Roles and Responsibilities

Editors of Technology are responsible for:

- Enforcing the journal’s guidelines for peer review and manuscript acceptance

- Making editorial decisions based on sound scientific judgment and, when appropriate, consultation with editorial board members

- Ensuring that authors are treated fairly and impartially throughout the review process

- Maintaining the confidentiality of all manuscripts and review materials

- Managing manuscripts in a timely and efficient manner

 

Qualifications

Editors are expected to be active researchers or engineers with a strong international reputation in their field. Ideal candidates typically possess:

- A significant record of publications in peer-reviewed, high-quality journals

- An excellent reviewing record, characterized by timeliness, fair‑mindedness, and efficiency

- Willingness to commit adequate time to editorial responsibilities

- Responsiveness to authors, reviewers, and readers

- Full support from their home institution

 

Conflict of Interest Policy

Technology is committed to the full and objective presentation, peer review, and publication of research. Editors must:

- Avoid situations of real or perceived conflicts of interest

- Disclose any relationships that could interfere with, or be perceived as interfering with, objective editorial decision‑making

- Recuse themselves from handling manuscripts submitted by themselves, their close associates, or colleagues with whom they have a competing interest

- Ensure that manuscripts authored by editors are managed by another editor, with no details of the review process accessible to the author‑editor

Manuscript Handling and Peer Review

Technology follows a single-blind peer review process, in which reviewers’ identities are not disclosed to authors. The editorial workflow includes:

1. Initial Screening: All manuscripts undergo an initial quality and relevance assessment by the editor upon receipt, including plagiarism screening.

2. Editorial Evaluation: The editor conducts a thorough evaluation of the manuscript based on scientific merit, originality, and significance. Where needed, the editor may consult with members of the Editorial Board for additional expert opinion.

3. Decision: Based on the evaluation (and any consulted advice), the editor makes a publication decision and sends a decision letter to the authors.

4. Revisions: If revisions are required, authors resubmit with a point-by-point response letter. The editor reviews the revised version and decides whether to accept it or request further changes.

 

Manuscripts must meet the high-quality standards established for reporting original, significant results of interest to the technology community.
